The Candidate

Meet TP Nykoriak

Born of Detroit’s grit and raised on its work ethic: a fighter for the 13th District who answers to the people who live here, not to a party or a donor class.

He has stood in the places most candidates only talk about. He traveled to Ukraine in 2022 and 2023, where he saw firsthand how American resources can go unaccounted for, and came home determined that Congress ask the hard questions.

His campaign is built on the oath itself: defend the Constitution, protect the rights of every citizen, and treat public office as a public trust rather than a career.

Our Mission

Confidence in Government, Restored

Restore public confidence in government by placing the Constitution, the people of Michigan, and the interests of the United States above politics.

America was founded upon the principles of liberty, individual responsibility, equal justice under the law, and government accountability. Those principles deserve unwavering protection.

This campaign is committed to serving every resident of Michigan’s 13th Congressional District with integrity, transparency, courage, and common sense. Public office is a public trust, not a career.

Every decision must be guided by the Constitution, the rule of law, and the interests of the citizens we are elected to serve.

Decriminalize Marijuana at the Federal Level

RESTORE FAIRNESS, MODERNIZE FEDERAL LAW, AND GIVE STATES CERTAINTY

POINT · 01

For decades, federal marijuana policy has remained inconsistent with the laws adopted by many states, creating uncertainty for citizens, veterans, small businesses, financial institutions, and law enforcement.

Michigan voters have spoken, yet outdated federal laws continue to create unnecessary legal conflicts and lasting consequences for individuals convicted of low-level marijuana offenses.

POINT · 02

TP Nykoriak believes Congress should work with the President to remove marijuana from the federal list of controlled substances where appropriate and modernize federal law to reflect the reality that many states, including Michigan, have adopted a different approach.

POINT · 03

Unlike career politicians who have made promises but failed to deliver meaningful federal reform, TP Nykoriak will actively work with congressional colleagues and formally urge the President to support federal decriminalization legislation and executive action where legally appropriate.

The goal is not simply to make campaign promises, but to pursue tangible legislative and executive solutions.

POINT · 04

TP Nykoriak will also advocate for legislation establishing a process to review and, where authorized by law, provide retroactive relief for individuals convicted solely of non-violent, low-level federal marijuana possession offenses.

Thousands of families continue to experience the long-term consequences of criminal records that affect employment, housing, education, and financial opportunities.

Federal resources should be focused on violent crime, organized drug trafficking, fentanyl distribution, human trafficking, and international criminal organizations, not on individuals whose only federal offense involved simple marijuana possession.

End Qualified Immunity for Federal Officers Who Knowingly Violate Constitutional Rights

NO ONE SHOULD BE ABOVE THE CONSTITUTION

POINT · 01

The Constitution is the supreme law of the United States. Every public official takes an oath to support and defend it, and every citizen deserves equal protection under it.

Government authority carries extraordinary power, and with that power must come meaningful accountability.

POINT · 02

TP Nykoriak will introduce legislation to substantially reform qualified immunity for federal law enforcement officers, including Border Patrol agents and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers, when they knowingly violate clearly established constitutional rights.

Public servants who intentionally engage in unconstitutional conduct should not be insulated from accountability merely because they hold a government position.

POINT · 03

The proposed legislation would strengthen transparency, expand independent review of alleged constitutional violations, and provide citizens with a meaningful opportunity to seek justice when federal officials intentionally deprive them of rights guaranteed by the Constitution.

Good officers who faithfully perform their duties have nothing to fear from accountability measures designed to identify and address unlawful conduct.

POINT · 04

TP Nykoriak supports law enforcement officers who honor their oath and protect the public with professionalism and integrity.

At the same time, those who knowingly abuse governmental authority, violate constitutional protections, or misuse the power entrusted to them should be held to the same legal standards expected of every American.

Government Accountability

INVESTIGATE WASTEFUL FOREIGN SPENDING AND STRENGTHEN CONGRESSIONAL OVERSIGHT

POINT · 01

Every taxpayer dollar appropriated by Congress should be traceable, accountable, and used only for its intended purpose.

The American people deserve confidence that military aid, humanitarian assistance, and foreign assistance are managed responsibly and are not diverted through fraud, corruption, theft, or waste.

POINT · 02

TP Nykoriak will advocate for comprehensive congressional oversight and investigations into the expenditure of U.S. funds and materials provided for foreign conflicts, including assistance related to Ukraine and other overseas operations.

Congress has both the authority and the constitutional responsibility to ensure that taxpayer-funded programs are administered lawfully and efficiently.

POINT · 03

During travel to Ukraine in 2022 and 2023, TP Nykoriak states that he personally observed what he believed to be U.S.-supplied materials and equipment being offered for sale in local flea markets.

Those observations raised serious concerns regarding accountability and the safeguarding of American resources.

POINT · 04

TP Nykoriak will support legislation requiring stronger auditing procedures, independent inspectors general, enhanced reporting requirements, improved end-use monitoring, and regular public accountability reports regarding foreign assistance programs.

Any individual or organization found to have diverted, stolen, misused, or unlawfully profited from American taxpayer-funded resources should be investigated and, where appropriate, prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Americans should never have to wonder whether billions of taxpayer dollars are being managed responsibly. Congress has a duty to ask difficult questions, demand complete answers, and ensure that every appropriated dollar serves the interests of the American people.

Protect Medicare, Medicaid, and Access to Quality Healthcare

PUT PATIENTS BEFORE POLITICS

POINT · 01

Access to quality healthcare should never depend upon political ideology or bureaucratic inefficiency.

TP Nykoriak believes that every American deserves access to affordable, timely, and high-quality healthcare through programs that are administered responsibly and efficiently. That applies above all to seniors, individuals with disabilities, low-income families, and those facing serious medical conditions.

POINT · 02

TP Nykoriak will fight to protect Medicare and Medicaid for those who lawfully depend upon these programs while working to eliminate fraud, waste, and abuse that threaten their long-term stability.

POINT · 03

Too many patients experience delayed approvals, unnecessary administrative obstacles, and difficulty obtaining medically necessary treatment.

POINT · 04

TP will advocate for increased transparency, stronger oversight of federal healthcare agencies, expanded access to physicians and specialists, lower prescription drug costs through increased competition where appropriate, and policies that preserve these vital programs for future generations while protecting the rights and dignity of every beneficiary.

Honoring Our Promise to America’s Veterans

THOSE WHO SERVED OUR NATION DESERVE MORE THAN OUR GRATITUDE

POINT · 01

The freedoms enjoyed by every American have been secured through the sacrifices of the men and women who have worn the uniform of the United States.

Our nation’s veterans should never have to fight their own government to receive the benefits, healthcare, and support they have earned through honorable service.

POINT · 02

TP for 313 is committed to strengthening the Department of Veterans Affairs through increased congressional oversight, improved accountability, and meaningful reforms that place veterans, not bureaucracy, at the center of every decision.

POINT · 03

He will fight to reduce delays in disability claims, improve access to quality physical and mental healthcare, expand treatment for PTSD and traumatic brain injuries, reduce veteran homelessness, strengthen employment and educational opportunities, and ensure that veterans receive timely, respectful, and competent service.

No veteran should be left behind after defending our country. Those who answered the nation’s call deserve a government that honors its commitments.
